I use Enumerator parameters like in C++ forward_iterator concept. I agree that this birey lead to confusion birli too many people will indeed assume Enumerators are /like/ Enumerables, but they are hamiş.
Enumerators can be used to read the data in the collection, but they cannot be used to modify the underlying collection.

Initially, the enumerator is positioned before the first element in the collection. At this position, Current is undefined. Therefore, you must call MoveNext to advance the enumerator to the first element of the collection before reading the value of Current.
I do suggest though you try and not do this because I think eventually it will come back to haunt you. A safer option is along the lines Jonathan suggested.
